NEW assistance

Just recently I have started to co-operate with the company
E-climb -> a team of devoted hard-core alpinists, ice-climbing entusiasts and constant researchers of new ground concerning the development of equipment, technique and the most modern of materials surrounding (and needed in) this 'sport'.

Sharing the same vision and devotion to breaking and creating ever new boundaries and exploring the virtually unlimited possibilities that are still waiting for us to be discovered, I hope to supplement some aditional spark of energy and ideas to help them on their quest of designing the best possible climbing tools & equipment.

The hardware revolution has begun...

Just like to know how you like those tools(CRYO PRO).... are they mix only tools, or still good on ice(WI)?

Hey there, 'anonymous'! ;)

Must say I'm really positively surprised by the PRO's everytime I use them on ice...

Of course (just consider the extreme curvature of the design!!) they can be preety un-handy on sloping terrain (under 50 degrees), but that's the story with all 'ERGO designs' unfortunately.

My recomendation thus:

If you're looking for a high-end, technical ice axe that performs excellent on steep terrain (80 degrees ice - horizontaly overhanging mixed & competitions!!), then CRYO PRO is the light & stable quality choice.

If you plan to climb mostly harder
ice (60-95 degrees, little rock), then choose the PRO (a little straighter) front pick instead of the usual (aggressive) COM one. It performs a bit better & is easier to hit into the ice...

Lastly, if you're a climbing all-rounder, that likes to climb fast and light and in all kinds of terrain (from very sloping to reasonably overhanging)... then the wise and simple choice would be the 'alpine' CRYO.

I already climbed some WI 7 ice, as well as M9 routes with them and they really astonished me at times - they were a good & fast choice indeed!!

Hopefully that helped... feel welcome to drop another line anytime. Perhaps also check the web-site for a more in-depth report & experience.
